We started from hotel Peklo. It is good starting point and also the end point - because it has very good and kids friendly restaurnat to have a rest after the trip. The trail to Jizera mountain goes nearly all the way on the bicke/pram friendly road. Last kilometer is possible only on foots (rocks and stones on the way, bickes can wait for you 1 km before the peak). The forest on the way and the view from the peak are just beautiful.
Near from the center of Abertamy (Farni street) there is a Parking for technical service - starting point for ski trails(50.3708408N, 12.8152561E). There is more trials starting from there and all very well prepared. By sunny wather it is full of families and not only. One of the favurit stops on the way is bar near Červené jámy to get some drinks and snacks. Smaller or non-cross-country-skiining you can take on the sledge. We were lucky to have a sunny wather and it was a fairy tail - around half of the tail are on the open areas so you are in the full Sun. Second half is in the forest.
One day rout from Praha-Modrany to Praha-Troja, ~14 km on Vltava river. On the way there are two locks that let to omit high weirs. Just be calrfull to choose the proper side of the river to land in the lock and not on the weir - worht to check a map before. The highlights are the Charles Bridge and Prague's Venice (very small on the left from Charles Bridge).
On a high rock, in a bend of the river, there are ruins of a medieval castle: Gutštejn. An improvised bridge made of fallen trees runs across the river. Around the forest. A place for a bonfire in the ruins. Fanatastic scenario for a joint sitting by the fire and crazy running around the land for children.
The sourrounding of the Javornik mountain is full of menhirs. They are not marekd on google maps, but are marked on mapy.cz or you can found detail rounds with map onsumavanet.cz We combined the walkt to the peak with sladges, drining water form the local sources and examing mehirs. The most know is called Moon Menhir (it has na sign of the moon in the "eye of menhir". It stands in the artifical postion most probably sicnce perhistory. The archeological reseacher of the place has never been done. All the menhirs I saw before were standing alone. Around Javornik it is different. All of them are surrounded by lots of oher stones with quite regular shapes - like it would be the old ruins of something, but so old that it is hard to judge.
On the peak Javornik itsleft there is an observation tower, but even if it is closed you ca still have a view on the sourrounding mountains in some directions.
Moon Menhir
Very easy nice route, perfect for sledges and small kids (going on the sledges if they do not want to walk). We want to Železná Ruda (Pancíř) by train and from Brcalnik by train back. On the way are beautiful views (again we were lucky to see Alps from Pancir), restaurant on Pancir and water springs on the way from Mustek to Brcalnik.
The Děčínský Sněžník, 723m (German: Hoher Schneeberg) is a mountain in the Czechia Republic not far from the highway Berlin - Prague. If the weather is nice, definitely worth to take 2 hours for a walk and visit the peak. Suitable also for small kids and prams. On the top is view tower and restaurant with traditional Czech kitchen. We were lucky to be there during inversion and could admire the view on the other picks going out of on the clouds.
In the cave there are stone roses that are 1,5 million years old. And many "newer" stalactites and stalagmites. Also in the Koněprusy Caves system, a large number of animal bones from 600,000 - 13,000 years ago, as well as human bones belonging to the Homo sapiens sapiens of about 13,000 years old, were found. In the Celtic times the area got its name: that means whiet horses. At the entrance to the cave is the symbol of Celtic women on the horse. Sometime between 1469 and 1472, a money-making workshop was set up on the upper floor to make fake coins. All this was forgotten and in 1950 the cave was rediscovered again and open to the public in 1959.
The tour in the cave is suitable for kinds age 4+ (no prams). It definitely makes an impression. Our kid also enjoyed a lot collecting the stones in the valley bellow the cave (yellow touristic path in the are of the cave). It is easy to find stones with seashells, small creatures and parts of plants. And you can allowed to take them with. Enjoy.
Březina is an early medieval and perhaps prehistoric fortified settlement near the village of the same name in Rokycany district. It is located in the western part of the Křivoklát Highlands on the hill of Hradiště. Its area is protected as a cultural monument of Czechia. To the hill leads the red marked tourist route from Březina. Path is short: definitely suitable for a walk for kids and also some prams. It leads through mixed forest with very old trees. On the top there is a small pavilion to get rest and enjoy the view. Peace with great atmosphere.

Kašperské Hory is a mountainous resort rich in the history and attractions. Main square is full of restaurants and hotels. Delicious food, buildings are renovated and the offer is reach. We enjoyed most during the visit in Glassworks were we could blow our own mugs. From the city Kašperské Hory we walked through the fields and forest to the castle Kasperk build by Charles IV. Great atmosphere inside and interesting guide tour - suited for the time of the year. We learn about the Christmases in the middle ages castle and my son played the Charles IV himself.There is also possibility to ski. Definitely worth of visiting for the few days.
Skiing areal Bublava - Stříbrná are actually two separated places: smaller one in Stribrna with one anchor lift and the bigger areal in Bublava. The first one as smaller is nearly empty - no waiting to the lift. There are three roads: blue, red and black, but already the red is quite difficult red and suitable only for better skiers. There is also snow part for the beginners. The areal in Bublava offers seating and anchor lifts and more roads. Is suitable for real beginners and for good riders: so for whole family. For the easies parts there are sometimes queues up to 10-15 minutes. The infrastructure around is better: ski service and rent, bar etc. To sum up: Bublava is worth of spending there few winter days and get really tired with different skinning options without much crowed.

From the Špičácké sedlo (with big parking) leads the path to the top of Pancir (Horská Chata Pancíř) where you can get rest in the restaurant. By the good weather you can by lucky to see the Alps. The road is fully suitable for prams.
Krkavec ia a pick and tower with view on Pilsen. Nice walk through the forest. More touristic paths that lead to the top are suitable also for the pram/buggy. It is worth to check opening hours of the tower to make sure it is open. We had also the chance to buy sausages in the bar and roast on the fire. Very nice atmosphere.
Hazmburk is a scenic peak with the ruins of the Gothic castle. Short and nice walk. In the season castle is open for the tourists and you can go to the top of the white tower.
It is classical activity for Czechs and tourists from all around the glob visiting Czech Republic in summer. Amusing, with some dose of adrenaline, beautiful nature and historical cities on the way. You do not have to prepare much. Just go to Vyšší Brod, rent a canoe and waterproof barrel and go. They will pick you up somewhere down the river. People are doing it with kids, dogs, guitars etc. We made the part from Vyšší Brod to Rožmberk in few hours with a stop for lunch. Enjoy!
