Kayaking on Piława (Gwda) river in Drawskie Lake District (Pojezierze Drawskie)

We rented kayaks from www.mrowka.pl, they advised us on a suitable route, as long as we the time we had (4 days), the starting point and potential end points (and drive us and pick us up there), we got a map and all good advices. We started on the lake in Łubowo and finished shortly before Czechyń. Most beautful part is from Nadarzyce to Szwecja which is also a good optoin for 1 day trip. The river is amazingly clean with (crampons living in) until Głowaczewo. Before Głowaczewo is fishing farm which takes clean water from the river and later give it back but not clean anymore.... On the way you can sleep on the campings with fireplaces and evnings with the guitar(campings are in the map we got or just online) or in the wild there are many suitable places as well. Be aware that in few places are obstacles (power station, damming etc.) and you need to move the kayaks on the land for some meters (20-50 m). You need to be stron enough for it. River is shallow and very kids friendly. You can take kids of any age with.

Agritourism "UL", Drawsko Landscape Park

Agrotourism is very popular in Poland but many places do not even have animals. In UL it is different, real agrotourism. Huge spaces with animals that you can enter and interact with, including feeding. Landscape is beautiful (small hills and lakes inbetween), people friendly and open. Kids enjoyed the horse riding lessons with Mrs. Danusia.

Sailing in the Gdansk Bay

We got on the Borad of Bryza H with captain Michał Kobyliński. Brayza H has 72 tons and even with 7 on the Beaufort scale we could leave the harbour. Regardless of the weather, we had two days full of fun. Evenings with gitara concert till late in the night. Games for kids. Walks, restaurants and bars on the beach.

I have not been in Gdańsk and Gdynia for years and I was impressed how they develop. Gdańsk cicty center by night is full of live and jsut beautiful. The harbour in Gdynia starts looking like the hourbors in Sweeden that I admiered 15 years ago. Happy to see all of that.

Szafarnia, Gdańsk center - we got on the boat

Museum and park: Orawski Park Etnograficzny w Zubrzycy Górnej

It was interesting to see how people lived before, squeezing linseed oil. What the sawmill looked like, etc. There is also a picnic area inside - it is worth taking something to eat and drink with you because the area is large and you will need some rest during your stay.

Sailing on Szczecin Lagoon (Zalew Szczeciński, Stettiner Haff)

3 days round on Johnson 26 that we rent in Stepnica. First day we sail to Świnoujście. Second to Dziwnów (on Baltic Sea) and thought Wolin back to Stapinca on the third day. The marina in Dziwnów was much better then in Świnoujście - located closer to the beach, with place for washing the dishes and fishing port nearby. On night we slept on the anchor and enjoy the sunrise on the water.

JOMSBORG – VINETA WOLIN – Center of Slavs and Vikings

During our sailing trip on Szczecin Lagoon we stopped in Wolin. On the other side of the river Dziwna is JOMSBORG - reconstruction of city of Slavs and Vikings. In the village are not only building but also people living! and working there. You can meet them in the historical cloths and they will tell you about how it was to live is such a place, show you how to produce salt, bake a bread etc. I fully recommend.

Skiing on Stóg Izerski

Stóg Izerski is the peak situated in the Polish part of the Jizera Mountains (near Świeradów Zdrój). Below the top is the upper station of Gondola that takes tourists, skier snowboarders, bikers in the summer and other lovers of mountains up the hill. We visited it in the winter season. This year there was there a lot of show, up to 2 m on the top! Gondola is kids and skiing beginners friendly. Also the read down the hill is not sharp. Till around 14 o'clock (in winter) the hill is on the sunny part of the mountain later the Sun hides behind the mountain. At the bottom station and in the neighborhood there are more small lifts for small kids (3 years old) or total beginners. Nice place to ski with kids but I was enjoining most the vies on the mountains pick going out of the clouds.

Baltic Sea in Rowy

Like in the most places at the Polish coastline, in Rowy you can enjoy wide beaches, with an aromatic pine forest behind the dunes. On the east and west the pine forest grows on wider areas and on the east part creates Słowiński National Park. Great place for kids and adults.

Cross-country skiing in Świeradów Zdrój

Lots of turist go from Świeradów Zdrój by Gondola up the hill to Stóg Izerski. They look around and go back. But there are so grate possibilities. One of them it take an advantage of cross country skiining paths. The terrain on the top is very gentle and suitable also for beginners. We took cross-country skiing path from Stóg Izerski through Polana Izerska to Chata Górzystów and back down to Świeradów Zdrój, together 19 km in 6 hours with 8 years old. Definitely to recommend, specially that you can take a rest in Chta Górzystów in the great atmosphere by fireplace and delicious food.

Ski in Swieradow Zdroj: SKI & SUN Świeradów Zdrój

Swieradow Zdroj SKI & SUN is an attractive place for beginners and moderately advanced skiers. It has only one (but long) blue road. At the beginning it is a bit tougher and later easy, even flat in some parts. Suitable for kids how learn to ski. Big advantage is that there are no queues to the gondola which is able to lift up to 2,400 people per hour. We were skiing in the main season during the sunny weekend and still we never waited longer then 3 minutes. For the smallest one there is also a small snow park and lift to make first steps on the snow. Fully recommendable for families.
