Nature in Berlin: Lübars - walk around the peat bogs and swamps

Lübars used to be a village and till today keeps the old style and atmosphere - beautiful place reachable with Berlin Bus line 222. Village itslef is worth visiting but even more the protected green ladscape north from it. It is 7km walk that perfectly fits kids and is also doable with pram. On the way you can meat: horses, sand dunes, swamps, small rivers, lakes, birds and many other those small things that makes kids keep walking.

Jeseniky - mountains for the mountain bikers and prams

Jeseniky are the moutains for bikers. Not only the most popular peaks like Praděd and Dlouhé stráně are reachble by asphalt road but alls lot of others. Through most of the forests and touristic paths go roads suitable for mountain and even crossroad bikes. Check the detail on mapy.cz. We we also lucky to visit Jeseniky when they were full of mushrooms and you one could just collect them along the road. In Karlova Studánka one can drink healthy waters.

Museum and park: Orawski Park Etnograficzny w Zubrzycy Górnej

It was interesting to see how people lived before, squeezing linseed oil. What the sawmill looked like, etc. There is also a picnic area inside - it is worth taking something to eat and drink with you because the area is large and you will need some rest during your stay.

Slovak Paradise

Slovak Paradise is a paradise. Beautiful nature and optimal conditions for hot days: rocks, forest, river, wtarefals protecting from the high temperature. Main recommendation is: start early in the morning, because later it might be crowded. We started around 7 in the morning and was nearly empty. We chose the trial: Prielom Hornadu and Kláštorská roklina. On the end (peak) of the Kláštorská roklina are  the ruins of a Carthusian monastery and the restaurant. We did the trail with 4 and 10 year old. 4 year old was on the rope of me husband for the security reasons.

Bečov nad Teplou, small city, lots of attraction

Castle in Bečov nad Teplou guards second biggest treasure in Czechia (after crown jewels on the first place): Reliquary of St. Maurus. The tour with the guide is fascinating like good criminal. The landscape around is beautiful: the town itself, rocks (for climbing), river and two Via ferratas in botanical garden. One very easy and small - perfect to try out with small kid (4.5 year old did it on my eyes :-)). We spent beautiful day in Becov.

Königstein (Sachsen) by land and water

Surrounding of Konigstein offers many different outdoor activities (and many camping places). We spent one day in canoe going down the Elbe river to Pirna (and the way back by train: we just let the air out of the rubber canoes and took them with us to the train). Second day we walk through the rocks to the pick: Lilienstein viewpoint. I liked both but walking made the kids more tired.

Brocken by bicycle

I was the first time I we cycle instead of walk to the pick. It was Brocken in Harz and as there are more roads to the pick, it is possible to take bicycle with. I will not hide that most of the time we led bikes up the hill, but down the hill it was fun! It was faster and funnier then it would be in the winder with sledges. Other family members had a mountain bicycle, but I did it on my cross bike (Unibike Voyager) and it was sufficient.
